Royalty returns to Roger Dean Stadium to see Palm Beach Cardinals play a home game!

Prince at Roger Dean for Palm Beach Cardinals
After spending some quality time with the King's brother, Henry, I drove us back to the Travelodge in Riviera Beach Sunday night. By doing so, I put us in position to get a good night sleep so we could be rested and ready for another busy day of watching baseball on Monday.

We went to have breakfast at the Seagull Diner which is located in a shopping center in Juno Beach which is right next to Jupiter where Roger Dean Stadium is. As for the Seagull Diner, I found it in the yellow pages while we were at the hotel. It turned out to be a good choice. As a result, the King and I enjoyed a hearty inexpensive breakfast.

After we ate we drove a mile or two down the road to go back to Roger Dean Stadium to see some day baseball as the Palm Beach Cardinals were hosting the Lakeland Flying Tigers in the Florida State League.

Just like the game we saw when we arrived on Thursday afternoon, there was a very sparse gathering. The crowd consisted of mainly day campers who represented many of the announced attendance of 749. It was another relaxing day at the ballpark for us.

As for the game we saw, the Lakeland Flying Tigers got a solid start from their starting pitcher Brian Flynn who tossed seven innings of shutout ball. He allowed just three hits and he struck out six as he got credit for the victory as the Flying Tigers beat the Cardinals, 4-0.

It was a nice fast crisp game. After seeing many long ones over the weekend, we needed a break and we got one.

Stay tuned as I go into detail about our return visit to Marlins Park Monday night with a special guest.

Thank you for reading and following along.

Yours truly,

Gary Herman
