Devils topple Penguins, 3-1!

Sidney Crosby scored his 45th goal of the season 2:25 into the game after the Devils got on the board first when Patrik Elias found the net 1:43 into the contest.

In the second period, the Devils failed to score on a 5 minute power play on a questionable charging penalty on the Penguins Craig Adams.

With 1:49 left in the second period, Ilka Kovalchuk of the Devils was awarded a penalty shot when he was taken down by Kris Letang on a breakaway. He missed on the opportunity.

Just 2:06 into the 3rd period, Andy Greene broke the tie with his 6th goal of the season.

Kovalchuk midway through the 3rd period blasted a bullet past Marc-Andre Fleury, the Penguins goaltender to give the Devils a 2 goal lead.

That's the way it ended. It was a penalty filled feisty affair.

These two teams have a rematch on Wednesday, St. Patrick's Day no less.
