Islanders dump the Maple Leafs, 4-1!

For the second night in a row, the Islanders took care of business on their home ice.

Just like Saturday night they fell behind early. Only 57 seconds into the game, the Leafs drew first blood thanks to Nikolai Kulemin who made it 1-0.

The Islanders answered quickly again 2:51 in when Tim Jackman tied it up at 1.

Ironicly, the Islanders scored a shorthanded goal for the second night in a row when Richard Park fired a blast past Jean-Sebastien Giguere, the Leafs goaltender with 11:05 left in the first period.

In the second period, Frans Nielsen put the biscuit in the basket with just 1:38 to go in the period to give the Islanders a 2 goal cushion.

Matt Moulson added a power play goal with 2:20 left in the game to round out the scoring.

As for the Islanders slim playoff hopes, these victories are probably too little too late but you never know in this day and age.
