Mall of America in Bloomington

Home Plate at Mall of America
After we ate lunch we decided to take a ride back near the airport in Bloomington.

We went to the Mall of America which was the site of the Minnesota Twins first home in the Twin Cities.

We wanted to see if we could find home plate.

As you can tell by the picture we were successful in doing so.

We also found a red seat that was located high up on a wall near the log chute.

Yes, that's right the Mall has a Nickelodeon Universe amusement park in it.

The only other Mall I've seen something like that was back in March 1998 when the King & I went to the West Edmonton Mall. That Mall even had a casino in it. It was beyond belief.

Metropolitan Stadium was closed back in 1981. Unfortunately I didn't get to see a game there.

Back on January 12, 1989 I did get to go to the Met Center which was the former of the Minnesota North Stars. I saw Mario Lemieux and the Pittsburgh Penguins play that night.

It once was a nice sports complex, now it's a Mall with an amusement park.
